The Dredgermans Court

This large stunning room with views across the entire bay was originally designed with two purposes in mind.
From the Balcony a watch was kept over the company beds to supplement the two watch boats permanently posted at sea to discourage stealing.
The second purpose was to house the meetings of the dredgerman who numbered 400 at one time. At this "court" men could even be fined for misdemeanors such as being drunk in charge of a company boat.

Having opened and run a cinema in this room for ten years practical considerations have led to us to reopen the court room as a cafe bar with conference facilities
